Dermabrasion

Description

With dermabrasion, a plastic surgeon "sands" your skin mechanically with a special instrument. The procedure makes way for a new, smoother layer of skin to replace the skin that's been treated.It was developed to improve upper lip vertical lines and small scars such as acne scars, pox marks, etc.

Duration of Results

Permanent. New wrinkles appear as the ageing process goes on.

DETAILS

Duration of the treatment: from a few minutes to an hour. You may need more than one session.

Anaesthesia: local or local with sedation.

Hospitalisation: usually on outpatient basis.

Recovery: it depends on the treated area. In small ones, between one and two weeks. In older people it can be up to 4 weeks. Redness can be present up to about 3 months and, to recover the ability to tan, requires between 6 and 12 months.

 

PROCESS

Day 1

• Arrival in clinic.
• Consultation with the specialists for medical evaluation.

Day 2

• Medical treatments are performed.

Days 3 to 9

• Wound care on alternate days.
